New Airport = Not approved by ICAO

Hi!

By the way I love to arrive there, because it looks like the plane will land on the water.

I got the same impression at Kai Tak before they closed it. To add to the experience the plane then flew in between two high buildings.

regards

Most fun of all, in 1975 I flew into HK simply to make a connecting flight to Bangkok. But in order to confirm my flight on Air Siam, I had to go through HK customs! Only had about half an hour to do so. I got in line, got a visa stamped in my passport, went to the connections desk, then had to rush back through immigration to get stamped out and run like hell to catch my flight. WTF???

p.s. Pan Am at least transfered my bag for me, even though they did smash the lightweight luggage. :(

With all the hooplah about Kai Tak, it was quite boring for me.

The water thing was nice, but I've had that before in some of the US Airports.

The building thing was cool, but all the hype, I thought it would have been even more awesome, but it wasn't. So it was a bit of a letdown.

But it sure as hell beats landing in Cleveland any day of the week!
