follies
Makes you wonder about the IQ of people who work for supposedly reputable hotel chains. I was amazed by the Marriot comment.."Only prostutites wear sleveless blouses and/or shorts"....what ???? While I would agree that the dress code in Bangkok is usually "better to wear long pants than shorts", and that the sight of a middle-aged tourist with hairy chest & pot belly dressed in vest and shorts is considered enbarrassing by most Thai, I know many Thai (men and women) who enjoy wearing shorts. This is especially true in the resort areas eg, Phuket. Classic website faux-pas. Reminds me of the tobacco company who noted that healthcare costs were kept down because smoking tends to kill people at an earlier age..... Stickman
There wasa follow up article to this on the front page of today's Bangkok Post that said that the Foreign Ministry will be scouring hotel websites for disparaging information about Thailand...
