Tamarind Village hotel in Chiang Mai - Is it good?

Soongmak,

Booked them last december, but fully booked.

But did go to see them, maybe to have an interest for next time.

Situated in the middle of the old town, quiet location, very buzy with lotsa tours (1-night groups :( ), mostly booked most of the year......

Looked like "authentic" to me, but smallish rooms.......

depending on your budget and transport, I would recommend Lanna Mantra Hotel just outside of town, maybe 4-5 km drive along the river.......

Thanks BB, the Lanna Mantra hotel looks really nice. The standard rooms seem to be within my price range (2,000 max.) How were they? Or did you stay in some of the more posh rooms? :)

The only downright of the hotel seems to be the location. We will be using public transport/ or taxi?s. Is it easy to go down town? Cheers!

soongmak,

We were there for NY eve, velly expensive and had the standard room in the building overlooking the river.

Rooms are just fan-tas-tic ! and the bathrooms are the max as well.....

Service and ABF is just top.

Want me to send you some more pics per mail ?

Use taxis, the hotel uses one twice a day as a shuttle, but that is 100 Bt / person.

A one-way trip to our from hotel should be no more than 40-60 Bt IMO, but I had my own rental there.
