dean
I did a visa run on Tuesday and several notes were posted concerning an increase from 200 baht to 500 baht a day for overstaying a visa. This starts March 15, so anyone with a considerable overstay should consider cleaning it up by March 14.
Flashermac
It's been posted in the Immigration office on Soi Suan Plu for a couple of weeks now. p.s. Can't blame them. If folks won't bribe the cops who stop their visa run bus, they've got to get the money somehow.

tilac
Yes I can confirm this also. I was at the Immigration Office in Bangkok (Suan Plu) recently and they had leaflets hanging all over there to announce that starting March 15, 2006 the fine for overstay will be raised from 200 Baht per day to 500 Baht per day. chilli13
if making money from the visa runners is the aim why don't they sell 30day visas at immigration offices country wide around the same amount as a visa run i.e. some 1500bt instead of allowing the khmers to collect the 1000bt+ visa fees?
