The_Munchmaster
I was in The Agency (a classy Dubai wine bar) last week sitting at the bar having a glass or two of red wine when an American guy came up to the bar and this is the short conversation that followed between him and the barman. American (in a loud voice): Do you have any draught beer? Barman: No, but we have a selection of bottled beers. American (in an even louder voice): Godammit (and then he left). It was a wine bar, everyone was drinking wine and there was no sign of any beer pumps! This is the kind of behaviour that stereotypes Americans as loud, brash and unmannerly which is unfortunate for the decent Americans (and I'm sure there a few of you). enigma
Was it George Bush? He is the epitome of that stereotype. Makes me embarrassed to be an American. Worst. President. Ever.
cavanami
Hey!!!!!!!! I resemble that remark :: Yes, some Amercians can be loud but like you say, this is a stereotype. Question I have...was the wine good? I like red wine but the 30/35 C temps here in BKK don't excite me to sip wine
longwoodguy74
Consider yourself lucky if the red wine isn't refrigerated (as it should never be).

As for not drinking wine in Bangkok because of the temperature, well it gets a hell of a lot hotter here in the summer (close to 50 C) but it never puts me off my wine.
