PhilAnders
The TV media in Korea (I imagine the print media as well) is less than enthusiastic about Japan's victory over Cuba in the WBC, highlighting how the Japanese team had an abomnidable record yet managed to get into the finals. The Korean's negative spin is not a surprise actually, as histories bad blood and sour grapes are boiling.
Steve
The Japanese have not (and probably will not ever) apologize over atrocities from their occupation of Korea. A lot of it too sordid to mention even on here. Their history books gloss over it. The Chinese feel the same way. The 'rape of Nanking' during the war was as bad as it ever gets. Even the german consulate, who were all Nazis were sheilding chinese from the horror. Lots of bad blood and it won't go away any time soon. Interesting thing is the Japanese quietly complain about America's dropping of the bomb and the after effects but down play their actions during WWII.
