Mekong
Ten years after Private Dancer was written Steve is going to publish a book in a similar vein "Confessions of a Private Eye" ... The True Stories from the Case Files of Warren Olsen. I have seen a few snippets already, but the bummer is it may not be published in Thailand in the near future, alledgedly Three Elephants (A witty Anagram of Stephen Leather)Publishing are still owed money from Asia Books for Private Dancer. I Just read Cold Kill last week, the Third Sam Shepherd Novel, if you liked Hard Landing and Soft Target then this is a "Must Read", Clancy built up Jack Ryan over a many books and Steve is doing similar with his Sam Sheperd Character. I got an email this week telling me the follow up "Hot Blood" is just finished, so it maybe out by the end of the year, I'll know more at the end of the month, 10th Anniversary of PD coincides with a well known expat, who is characterised in all his "normal" novels 50th Birthday Bash, Most of Jools Class 95-96 will be there God Help Us! dddave
I found "SOFT TARGET" disappointing; formulaic and cliche ridden. After reading "PRIVATE DANCER", I had hoped for better.
Julian2
Hard Landing was a good read, picked up Soft Target this week, haven't looked at it yet. Leather isn't great literature and shouldn't be read as such, just as enjoyable popular fiction.
