Azmit Posted March 16, 2002 Report Share Posted March 16, 2002 Just came back from Siem Reap. It is developing very fast, seems like new hotels and gesthouses opening all the time. Lots of guides (hotels all arrange for drivers and guides). I think a guide is a must at least for the first couple of days. The problem is avoiding the crowds : if they say that temple is best seen in the evening, it will have hundreds of tourists...(it's wise to start very early in the morning). I took the boat trip from PP, it's really very nice to see Cambodia from the river. Also you arrive in the floating vietnamese village which is absolutely crazy (your guide can arrange a visit from Siem Reap, 15 $ to rent a boat, nice at sunset).
