Based on my stay/vist in Bangkok and Saigon(Offically called as Ho-Chi-Minh City= Abbreviated as HCMC)respectively, I felt difference of these two cities as those of difference between London and Paris in Europe such as following points. Bangkok is a capital of Kindom and uniform of royal guards is similar to those of Backingham palace in London. Saigon is a capital of Colonial French Governorate of Kochin-China and preserving old French flavour in everywhere of the city such as Catholic cathedorals or French style cafes. Also the site of bloody civil wars during last century which could be a distant discendant of French Revolution. To me the city (perhaps the whole country) seems to be somehow far far behind BKK and Thailand. But one thing was very exiting. Karaoke Bars and some upscale clubs have a big number of very beautiful women. As you mentioned, Saigon has only small numbers of bars and disco although there are huge numbers of French style cafe everywhere. There is no Go Go Format in Saigon, as far as I know. Please be reminded that Vietnam is a Communist Country although it become much more open minded nowadays. Therefore, there is a certain limit of night attraction. But, I believe individual charms of the girls in Saigon is not in behind of those of Angel city. My impression on Karaoke Club with hostess in Saigon is almost same as what is exisiting in Angel City. Pricewise, also it would be almost same although standard of living in two cities are much different. If somebody who becomes sick and tired of frenzy atomosphere and human wave attacking by girls in Angel city, then Saigon would be nice place for rehabilitate oneself with a bit of Europian Atomosphere, for returning to Angel city once again.
