Curling shortish hair, unironed t-shirt and a rucksack with some of his ill gotten gains clearly visible, at Asoke BTS I clearly saw Thai people giving him 100 notes and a tourist slipped him a bunch of twenties. So this time I was determined to ask him something about his existence: Q You're the Dutch guy right? You're quite well known on a few net sites A Yes, I have no ticket home and my embassy won't help me unless I am completely dependent on them, ie if I break the law. Q What do the police say to you? A I pay them up to 2000 Baht per day and they let me stay here as long as I like. Q How much do you make per day? A Around 1500 Baht. ( net ) Q According to the net, you live in On Nut. Is this correct? A Yes. Q So why are you openly decieving other foreigners by claiming you can't get home? A It's a way of making money and I can't be an english teacher, I'm Dutch. Q But you're accent is ok and you have understood every word I have said, that alone is enought to get you into a teaching position here. A This is easier. Q Do any people get aggressive towards you? A Yes, mainly executive looking foreigners look down at me with a bad look Q This is better than working, and easier isn't it? A (Smiles) Yes it is and I don't really enjoy it but the money does come in! I was inclined to be hostile to the man at first when I saw him ages ago, but the man has balls, you gotta hand that to him. And at least he keeps the money without giving it to the beggars mafia. Do they give him a "get out of jail" pass in Thai, And what do the cops have to do with immigration ?
