cavanami
So easy to place one's foot into one's mouth! SYDNEY, Australia - Australia's most prominent Islamic cleric vowed Thursday to stand strong against widespread outrage over his description of women who don't wear head scarfs as "uncovered meat" who invite rape. chuckwoww
Yes indeed. If he'd restricted his comments to muslim women it would probably have gone unnoticed. Mind you there are a few Christian fundys who would agree with him.
cavanami
Roger that! Brings back to mind the incident with the Pope, but really, both "sides" are way to sensitive...IMO.
Julian2
Just out of curiosity I wonder how many rapists used as their defence "She had it all hanging out, she was begging for it." Not the real nutters but the young hoods that cruise the streets looking for pick ups.
Flashermac
His logic seems to be that men have no control over themselves. If they see a woman they like, they will rape her. Where is the responsibility for Muslim men to control themselves? Followers of other religions don't seem to be regarded as sex maniacs. p.s. A Pakistani colleague assures me that the Qu'ran only requires women to cover their hair, not their face. What do you bet that cleric is a Wahabi? chuckwoww
He probably is a Wahabi but the idea of women leading men into temptation is straight out of the Old Testament.
Flashermac
So ... the Qu'ran is derived from the Bible, at least as much as Muhammad could remember of it. (Now to put on my flak jacket and hide from the Islamic hit squads. You can get killed for saying that! )
chuckwoww
Don't feel bad. Monotheism goes back to Zoroaster....some say it even predates Akhnaten.
Nervous_Dog
Interesting book by a ex nun on Mohumad. Not just bible but a larger amount of the jewish book, plus some other monotheism religions in Iran/Iraq area. DOG
