Flashermac
Almost everyone I know was pleased to see Thaksin get the boot. But they are still waiting to see what happens next.
pasathai1
I have a Thai friend who is somewhat of an intellectual and asked him if he thought the coup was a good move. He said if they put away the corrupt persons from the previous administration then yes it is a very good thing, otherwise it's just the same old, same old like before. I hate to say it, but I think most thais would be lost without corruption. ( small scale stuff that gets "things done quickly") as for big time "crooks" they will just try to stay hidden better for a while
YimSiam
i would like to say something but... Yeah, in the gentlest way, maybe KS is giving us a taste of what it's like to live in a country where you can't say what you think, even to folks you know are likeminded... I feel like I've got quite a bit to say about recent events, yet don't want to risk anything (individually or collectively) by saying them. Just a shadow of the feeling that East Germany, Myanmar, LPDR, PRC, etc, nationals must know... YimSiam

ThaiHome
They had to hold a referendum on the new constitution first, which happen on 23 August 2007. In the Dec election, the PPP did get the most votes, but it was not anywhere near a majority and they only beat the Democrats by a small margin 2007 Election Results TH
