JannikOJ
I can see that Air Asia now flies from Bangkok to Langkawi. Has anybody been there before and how does it compare to one of the thai islands like Phuket and Samui? I understand that alcohol is taxfree there which must be said is a big plus! And i suppose its BYOB (bring your own bird) right? Thanks!
Mentors
Langkawi island is much nicer as Phuket. Beer you can get in every chinese restaurant. Take a bird with you!
Nuder
Well langkawi is a duty free Island. Booze is cheap compared to other places in malaysia I would say the beaches are ok. Maybe not as fun as puket or pattaya:)
Limosine
Nice island... Ask at some of the massage places of P4P options which are slim at best. I love langkawi...but its a BYOB for sure.
samak
have been there last year. nice beaches and interesting island; cheaper than Phuket and Samui (accommodation, car rental, food and in particular booze at is a dutyfree island). a lot of various restaurants, chinese, thai, malay. some muslim restaurants do not sell booze, but you can buy in a nearby shop and drink it in the restaurant. have not seen any p4p but was also not looking for as i did not go alone. JannikOJ
Hi Samak, Is there any specific part of the island you can recommend or is all the hotels located the same place?
samak
the majority of the hotels which are middle to low end is on the west and south coast, where also the majority of the restaurants are. there are a couple of high end hotels in the north, but they are pretty remote depends on your budget
