So,whats there to occupy oneself in downtown Shanghai during my leisure periods? Thanx
samak
north of Shanghai is the sea. doe you have any offshore drilling job there? in Shanghai maybe try Henshan road with a lot of bars (some owned by guai lo's, how they call farang in china) and plenty of freelancers. Maoming has recently experienced some downturn

adanac
If you go North of Nanjing Road on Longren Road about a one or two blocks there are about 10 freelancer bars all side by side. This is very close to the Ritz Carlton and JC Mandarin Hotels. You can find full service barber shops on Julu Road walking distance from these hotels about 20 minutes walk. The bottom of Moaming Road has many freelancer bars. Then there's Fuxing Park area with lots of bars. Behind the Ritz Carlton there is a two story sports bar with pool tables good food and a few freelancers, I forget the name of the place but there are a few signs on Nanjing road near the hotel pointing the way. There is also a very large disco in the same area a few blocks south of the Ritz. If you want some stunning woman and have cash you can go to the KTV in the JC Mandarin Hotel walk down the stairs and a lot of beautiful woman will come out in there evening gowns. Shanghai is a great city to party.
