Julian2
My nephew's back in Australia for the Sydney Hobart Yacht race. He's been in Spain working for the American America's Cup Oracle syndicate. He's a professional yachtsman and seems to be in great demand internationally. Apparently he never spends a cent when he's overseas, even their beer is free if they stay with the owner and other crew but I was wondering what sort of $$$ guys like him earn. Never know might need some one to move in with in my old age.
bust
Don't worry J2 they do quiet well. A close friend's brother used to skipper Nokia in the Grand Prix 18 footers. He also skippered Nokia maxi in the Sydney to Hobart in 1998, the deadly one. On top of that he was a crewman on a Sweedish maxi in the Whitbread Round The World. Did the first leg, Cowes England to Capetown. His earnings, $35K US. Not bad for a weeks work.
