Roger_Baby
In Internet cafes here in Bangkok I often get hijacked to websites that are not the ones I was intending to visit. I've read about these re-directs, but is there a way to thwart them? Are the comps I'm using infected with spyware?
dogblower
Easy enough to avoid or fix on your own computer. You're at the mercy of the internet shop owner and their antivirus measures (or lack of them) when you use their computer though.
Palatkik
Use a portable app on a USB keychain whenever possible at net cafes and only use net cafes that allow USB devices?
Boo Radley
I went to one internet cafe at the Thai post office once that was running IE. It had been hijacked by so much malware such as Coolwebsearch etc there was hardly space to fit the extra toolbars on the browsers. Pop-ups were ca. 2 a minute. Went to another cafe that ran Mozilla and that install seemed to be clean. The idea of portable Firefox on a USB device seems like a good idea and might work.
