naam
Woooow, that was super fast! Thanks for your help. What does the 'lae' stand for in this phrase? Doesn't it mean 'and'?
preahko
What does the 'lae' stand for in this phrase? Doesn't it mean 'and'? No, by itself it means "to see," together with "duu" (to look) it forms a compound meaning "to look after, watch over" (i.e. take care of) and the "duay" in this case doesn't mean "too" (though it can in other contexts); here it's untranslatable into English directly, think of it as a "softener" to the "command" of "take care of yourself"...kind of analogous to "take care of yourself, okay?" in English, as opposed just "take care of yourself"...the first is a little softer of a command... preahko
