Fidel
Heard any lately? I was walking down the street in Hua Hin the other night when I heard a taxi driver say: "Muang nawk me hee ma, Muang Thai me hee mo". This translates as: Overseas they have snow in Thailand we have pussy. This particular vulgarity can be used to explain why Thailand is overflowing with Farang at this time of year. Adams167
I think you mis-heard the chap. I believe what he actually said was "hee mohk", which is not at all vulgar since it simply means "fog" - as in "mist". So what he said was - "overseas they have snow, in Thailand we have fog". Dexi
I like the Thai nickname for the Koreans...' Kon gow heee '....
Adams167
It's actually pronounced with a hard "r" in there - Kon Gow-Rhee. Be careful not to mis-pronounce and say "Gah-Rhee" - that's a rather rude term for a prostitute. Paul
elef
A friend from Buriram just says gow lee, took me long time until I could guess which country she meant. Phoned TGF and asked she said that kao gow lee is the correct thai for korean people.

Pescator
Hi Elef, Wouldn`t that be Chao Gao Lee? Chao for people or person. à ¸?à ¸²à ¸§ Gow Hee, a *unt with glue? Would explain some foreigners infatuation with thai women. cheers hn
elef
Hi HN, according to my dictionary you're correct, I just wrote what I heard TGF say over the mobile - as I don't read or write thai. Surely Flashermac can comment on this. Cheers elef
