sanddawg1
I always went up to the arrivals floor anyway; would catch a taxi droping someone off and hop in for 1/2 the price S1
exit2dos
I always went up to the arrivals floor anyway; would catch a taxi droping someone off and hop in for 1/2 the price S1 I can understand you would save the 50 Baht airport fee, but how can you save half the fare, if they use the meter? Dumsoda
Agree....Maybe it was only a 50Bt fare fare to where he was going And by saving the 50Bt Airport fee ...it became..."Half Price"?????? Never forget.....perception IS reality....to many people Cheers DS
Barry
Maybe he negotiated an off meter fare as the driver was going back to town empty otherwise.

[/quote'] I think SD1 is talking about drivers who refuse to use the meter on the way in from the airport. They all seem to use it if you pick one up from Departures, as they don't have to wait hours to get a fare back.
exit2dos
Possible. Even from Don Muang's taxi booth they would sometimes try to negotiate a fare despite the receipt stating it was a meter fare.
David99UK
So, ball park how much is a Taxi from the New Airport to Lower Sukhumvit? (400/500B?? all in) and the trip length (1-1/2 hours?). (yeah, I know I am meant to be being good - but it's my long time "no brainer hotel" - "where everyone knows my name" and hers).
