loose big money by offshore rates!

I've never really taken much notice, but just had a look at my accounts. (Westpac NZ)

For withdrawals from my creditcard, I get the onshore rate, but charged a fixed $8.00 bank fee. On a typical 10k Bt withdrawal that is just over 2%

For withdrawals from my debit card, I get also the onshore rate, but two separate fees, an $8.- bank fee and another $9.44, on top of that, totalling 4.6%.

 

I had always assumed CC withdrawals more expensive then debitcard. Thanks for reminding me folks.

 

BTW, preparing for a retirement visa, I opened a Kasikorn account recently, and make TT payments monthsly from my o'seas account. Now use my card on that bank almost exclusively.
