Long Gun
Yes, I rather liked Khorat and the surrounding area too. As far as your western comforts go there's a massive new mall next to the airport with a multiplex cinema, bowling alley and all the usual suspects, plus a small computer mall in the basement. I am sure that if you stayed there for a while you would find plenty to do in the evenings. Blackie, I'll send the asfo guy's details to you in a private message. Guest
quote: Khorat appeals to me for it's proximity to BKK, 50 mins and 1260B rtn to BKK as I listed above, should I get bored shitless. Two things to consider about flying to/from Khorat are that the flight schedule is somewhat infrequent and the Khorat airport is located in the middle of nowhere about 30 kilometres east of town. Once you add in travel time to the airport plus check-in, it might be simpler to take the bus as there are frequent departures 24 hours/day.
