Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya Friday afternoon

I arrive on Friday at 4:20p, and am thinking about taking a taxi straight from the airport to Pattaya, but have been warned about the massive traffic jams leaving BKK on Friday afternoons.

Should I spend the night in BKK, and leave Sat. morning?

There's a bus to Pattaya, about that time. They leave downstairs near the taxi stand. They know the shortcuts better than the average cab and will transfer you to a van to your hotel. And you'll save 1200 Bt, at least.
