Soi11 Posted October 21, 2007 Report Share Posted October 21, 2007 I arrive on Friday at 4:20p, and am thinking about taking a taxi straight from the airport to Pattaya, but have been warned about the massive traffic jams leaving BKK on Friday afternoons. samak Posted October 21, 2007 Report Share Posted October 21, 2007 not so massive! and the problem is getting out of Bangkok in Srinakarin/Rama IX area or Bangna Trad area. from the airport you can get directly to Chonburi Motorway or Bangna Trad-Chonburi Expressway, so you land already outside the traffic jams. Mekong Posted October 22, 2007 Report Share Posted October 22, 2007 I'd say between 8-9PM, and I probably have a little bit more experience of driving that route than most since I drive to Sri Racha every monday, Sri Racha-Pattaya every midweek day and back to BKK on a Friday. Dumsoda Posted October 22, 2007 Report Share Posted October 22, 2007 ...After giving the matter some extremely in depth consideration....it is my considered opinion that there is a strong probability that you will arrive in Pattaya.....at the Dolphin round a bout...on Friday evening.....sometime!!!! More likely than not, between the hours of 7 & 10 pm Jai yen yen.....still plenty of time to stock up with required "Goodies" for the night... elef Posted October 22, 2007 Report Share Posted October 22, 2007 I agree with Mekong as North Pattaya Rd is a traffic jam every friday and saturday afternoon - a lot of busses for Tiffanys and even more with chinese and south korean groups for Beach Rd hotels....
