rchapstick
The director is totally in luv with this new technology that digitizes the actors. Makes for more impressive, and less expensive, special effects. Same tech used in Polar Express.
Weird
It was fun just to go watch a movie in 3D. It's been too long since I last did that. The movie itself was average, 3d pushed it a little up in my book.
exit2dos
... I was under the impression this is a fully computer generated movie. ... angelina jolie's boobs are computer-generated for starters... The props, monsters, scenery etc are all computer generated but the actors are real like Jolie and all the other stars. Maybe some of the extras are not real, it is hard to tell. It's the first movie I've ever seen like that. It worked for that kind of science fiction fantasy genre but I don't think I'd like it for anthing else. I thought Jolie was lousy, even though she was only on screen a few minutes.
zzzz
I just saw Hitman today and will see 3D Beowulf tomorrow. Hitman is really good -- that Russian actress, Olga Kurylenko, is a 10 [she can give me a 2-hr Thai massage anytime].
zzzz
On second thought, I pass on Beowulf after reading the reviews, which are not good. It was being compared to the movie, "Polar Express," which I didn't like at all.
rchapstick
Its being compared to Polar Express because the motion-capture technology is the same ... not because the movies are are even remotely related in terms of content (though they do have the same director, who is in lurv with said tech'y).
