Tiger Moth
I will be visiting for a few days in a week or so and would appreciate hotel recommendations. The one name I have is "Asia Plaza" which I understand is OK but not great for $20 a night and $10 guest fee for lady. Any alternatives, especially without guest fee, would be appreciated. bust
Many to choose from here with a variety of rates. http://directrooms.com/myanmar/hotels/yangon-hotels/price1.htm You mentioned guest fees for lady. Just be aware that WHO estimate that up to 40% of sex workers in Rangoon are HIV positive.
colorwolf
...but then again, according to the WHO, nearly all of humanity has either hiv/aids and/or bird flu and/or sars and/or hepatitis and/or ebola and/or malaria etc etc. they're fearmongers, and for a reason: without fear for obsure iseases they'd receive no funding... back to the op: posters on the isg seem to be content with the panorama hotel... be sure to post a trip report, as am curious how the curfew has affected (night)life in rangoon... great place...enjoy! The clinic I am involved with would support those figures.
