jack_schist Posted January 15, 2008 Author Report Posted January 15, 2008 i have a long legged, long haired tour guide witha motocy to show me around so hopefully i will see a bit of countryside.
DocThai Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 Ditto...It is most likely my retirement destination...if I can ever afford to retire. Big enough city that has all the conveniences, but still an up-country feel. Also sports an excellent university (for Thailand).
CTO Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 I also think it's a pretty good uni, one of three in Thailand offering Dr's degree? IS that right?
Central Scrutinizer Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 CTO, Yes, actually my daughter might do the tests there as well. They have three universities training for medical degrees I think. One in Khon Kaen, one in Chiang Mai, and one in Bangkok. I was told this just the other day. There are also some schools they call 'The Brain' where high school students go in the summer to advance their education to get them ready for university. One is in Khon Kaen as well. I'll be checking this one out when we go to our friend's house warming/wedding party, on my way back from there. Supposedly a new 'The Brain' school has just opened up in Buriram as well recently. Cent
DocThai Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 Khon Kaen has many good schools. Even 80 kilometres to the west there is a "King's School" (free) that has a quality education. I visited there and was highly impressed. Even the elementary age kids there take their studies seriously.
Encore Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 Not sure if i could handle living in Chumpae. One night 5 years ago was enough.
DocThai Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 But it's a good place to visit and an easy drive from KK...
