Bars Closed on 12 March?

Senate elections are Sunday 02 March so it looks like you're safe  But for others it appears there is not only the election, but also "advanced voting" on the previous weekend - 24 February, so there may be two weekends in a row of drinking disruption. Or surreptitious drinking :drunk:

Hi,

Can you clarify and help please?

I'm in Bangkok 2nd March. With the election and reading the forum, i assume bars will close 1st 6pm and officially re-open 8pm 2nd?.

So what does an interested visitor do?. No bars, nightclubs?. Does this apply to tourist hotels as well? What are the options for entertainment?

Thanks

Hotel restaurants and bars normally are exempt from the alcohol ban. With the go-go bars, you never know. Many will close, but others may be open and serving only soft drinks.

Best option for entertainment: the carpark at the Nana Hotel! When the bars are closed, it looks like The Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Also, a stroll down Cowboy will always find some BGs out on the street looking for a "companion" for the evening.
