WorldFun
if this is indeed correct & as per current enforcement that means that all one have to do to circumvent a delay in 90 day reporting (say 100 days since last report/immigration entry) is to exit & re-enter the country well then it's a brilliant 'loophole' especially for regular travelers or even those who consider the 'inconvenience' & cost of a 2000bt fine & immigration visit is much worse than a trip out to one of the many lovely nearby/cheap options like Laos, Cambodia, Burma, Malaysia or even SIN/HKG etc - or am I missing something here? So in effect it seems 90 day reporting is ONLY linked to extension of stay thus NOT linked to border/checkpoint immigration with exit/entry to the country although some link must be there in order to establish that indeed the 90 day requirement/date is being reset to 0 days at any new entry to the kingdom... Very interesting However there's no consensus as Mekong (previous post) seem to indicate otherwise... When you leave, they collect your departure card at the airport and that must operate to terminate any further reporting requirement (since you are officially and in fact, no longer within Thailand). Then when you return and they collect a new arrival card from you, that starts the 90 day reporting clock ticking again.
