redwood13
ok, soi 11 haveRosabieng, thai restaurant with the small train wagon in the garden (the name is the thai word for this wagon, but the transliteration is a bit strange); upscale thai food Zanzibar: they started as italian restaurant, then changed to thai food and now i think it is some international stuff. upscale as well. German beerhouse: no further explanation necessary! Pizzeria Limoncello: one of the better Pizza places in town! I've been staying at the Fed since 1981 and the changes on Soi 11 are coming thick and fast. Used to be no place to eat on the soi. I too would recommend all of Samak's choices except I haven't eaten at Zanzibar yet. Dinner for 7 of us at Rosabieng was around 2500 baht - excluding alcohol. German place has an ok egg/bacon breakfast for 99 baht including decent coffee. Coffee at the Federal is an acquired taste and after 27 years I'm still not there. Chinese/Thai food at the Fed is ok but I can't think of anything off the farang side of the menu I'd order. -redwood
