Flashermac
A Taiwanese-Vietnamese joint venture started work on what is slated to be the countryâ??s largest software park Saturday in Ho Chi Minh Cityâ??s District 2. The 15.9-hectare software park in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area will require a total investment of US$1.2 billion, to be sourced from local company SaigonTel and TA Associates Vietnam, a consortium of three Taiwanese firms â?? Teco Electrical and Machinery Co., Shining Group and the Industrial Bank of Taiwan. The park aims to provide facilities to develop and outsource software for export, to design circuits and chips, and to develop human resources. Investors said they expected that once operational in late 2012, the second software park in the new urban area after the $610-million Vietnam-Japan Brain Park would employ around 70,000 laborers and generate annual revenue of $6.5 billion. Over to you, PM Samak! Hi Are they building a "plug & play" infastructure. I think getting people in the field of hardware design & development will be marathon task. This area is real tuff to get people. I once headed a US design center in India with all the IT talent, we could not get the right guys...most of the talent in the chip design & development is in US (Indians). In India guys who are in this area command 2 times the salary then people who work in other IT development. Tiwan is good in manefacturing... they can turn around a board give the design but not developing, they are worlds chip mannefacuring back yard. cheers
