Faustian
Hopefully returning to LOS next week...have some time off and money, not sure where I should go in Thailand. Not interested in P4P but would like someplace with a few bars/restaurants...also don't want to go north as not interested in countryside....more a beach type place... Don't want Pattaya or area. Not Koh Samet, as it is not someplace I'd go alone...too quiet. Not Phuket, going there for xmas anyway. Not krabi. Too quiet. I'm really stuck about where to go....any ideas anyone? please. Money not a problem btw.
rchapstick
Try Hua Hin. I am particularly fond of the Khao Takiab area (just south of Hua Hin town, near the standing Buddha).
Faustian
Thanks, is it fun to be there alone? A nice place to relax?? And good hotels close to the beach? Cheers for the reply.

rchapstick
I've always gone with the GF. Khao Takiab is quiet compared to Hua Hin town. Lots of places on the beach. In Khao Takiab my favorite is Kaban Tamor. I don't see how they could enforce any guest restrictions, but I have no idea what their policy is. There are also lots of beachfront hotels in Hua Hin at various price points. Check Hua Hin After Dark for better info on options.
