radioman
Wife tells me that some big shot connected to Bangkok Bank has been arrested for dipping into the banks money says its in the Thai press and people are saying it was money for bankrolling PAD. Friends are telling her to get money out before the bank folds. Is this for real? Can't see anything related to this online? Usual Thai panicky horseshit and over reaction to something minor and completely unrelated or what? Cheers
elef
Probably something is true, but risking a bank to go bankruptcy - no way. A small part of the assets of a bank is in cash, so somebody working as a normal bankman can never risk more than less than 1 % of assets. Futures and similar instruments can be used for speculation if combined with a bad internal control system (or bosses not understanding what a trader is doing or can do). It costed many billions in Singapore and in France.
