Hugh_Hoy
Once again, a 2nd level school knocks off one of the "storied" BCS conference teams. Utah made it 13 in a row this season by completely out-classing/playing Alabama tonight from the opening kickoff. Sacked the 'bama QB EIGHT times and stole his lunch a bunch of other times. (He'd only been sacked 14 times all season by those terrible, big bad SEC teams. ) Saban looked like he'd had a sack of shit sandwiches for his pre-game meal by the end of the 3rd quarter. Loved it. And to think 'bama was only a game away from playing next week in the BCS championship game. They belonged there about as much as Ohio State did the last couple of years. Some form of playoff system is needed...as well as considering taking more than one non-BCS conference team into the BCS bowls. Congrats to the Utes. USVirgin
Yup, classic. Shows how underrated SC is.

Hugh_Hoy
If USC had played 'bama, it could've been 50-3 ! Ute defense was superb, but USC's is even better...as is USC's offense group. PAC-10 was 5-0 in bowls this year. Not bad at all. Now, if the Chargers and Cardinals can win their's, it'll be a very good week. HH
RayRay
PAC-10 was 5-0 in bowls this year. Not bad at all. Oh please. If the PAC-10 was so good they would have had more than 5 teams in bowls. If those 5 teams were so good then more than one of them would have been playing in a real bowl. Who did those 5 teams beat? Penn State - The Big 10 hasn't been relevant for years. Oklahoma State - Had a good year as far as number of wins, but lost to every top-level team they played. Nice win over Missouri but Mizzou may have been one of the biggest disappointments in the country this year. Pittsburgh - Is it basketball season yet? BYU - Took a blocked PAT to beat a completely worthless Washington team. They did drill UCLA though. Which conference are both of those teams from? Miami - Check your calendar, this ain't the 1980's and 1990's any more.
Hugh_Hoy
Oh please. If the PAC-10 was so good they would have had more than 5 teams in bowls. You mean like the "Chick-fil-A Bowl"? HH
RayRay
You mean like the "Chick-fil-A Bowl"? HH No doubt the Chick-fil-A Bowl can not compete with the tradition and pageantry of say the Las Vegas Bowl, the Emerald Bowl and the Sun Bowl but we make do. When you get only five bowl teams and three of them play before NYE you know those teams are meaningless. Let's see, today's Florida win makes it three national titles in a row for the SEC and 6 of the last 13. That my friend is the picture perfect definition of "best conference in the country". Recognize!!!
Steve
Being an Auburn alum, I have no problem with Utah winning. Division 1 football is stacked anyway. I hate the 'Domers and years ago they used to get great bowl bids based on two things and two things only. Their fans travel and they get a lot of people watching on television. We need a play off system but it won't happen. Not in my lifetime. The good thing about the 'Big Dance' is that you can get a Gonzaga beating a Duke. The Boise States and Fresno States of the world don't get the opportuity they should at times for a good season.
