kamui
Great pics and comments, thanks. It's been years, but hope to be back in the LPDR someday - YimSiam What I read on the net LP is like Siem Reap 5-6 years ago. Which means in few years it isn't a quite laid back place anymore. That's why I want to go there now.
YimSiam
I think there's a key difference between the two, as well - despite Siem Reap's buildup of hotels, etc, it still has Angkor Wat to blow your mind. Once Luang Prabang is filled with three-star hotels and package-tour restaurants, and with the Laotian who come there to work that scene and make a buck, there's very little left to enjoy, as it is basically the ambience alone that makes the place great... chuckwoww
I got lucky in a street behind the market. Look for the old woman with no teeth cutting up catfish. Make sure you take some French francs.

chanolan
great pics there is a little nightlife. There two nightclubs in Luang Prabang believe it or not. The best is Dao Fa - just ask any Tuk driver, they all know it. locals are very friendly. There are also several P4P places on the outskirts - mainly Viet girls
