Dexi
Wonder if a Buddist belief makes suicide easier to contemplate...ie.check out early and hope for something better next time round...
Flashermac
Not really. You are supposed to solve your problems in this life. Otherwise, you will still have to face them later.
doxx
Sucks, my aunt actually went that way two decades ago (killed in subway tunnel). Ppl argue suicide is selfish and I think it especially so if you make somebody else kill you (train driver) and then halt traffic for hours delaying others... Flashermac
A male Ramkhamhaeng student threw himself in front of the Skytrain at Siam Square a few years ago. Shut down the line for hours. Apparently, the guy had been screwing around instead of studying, so his big brother gave him hell. Strange reaction. Flashermac
Assumption University has had several female students jump out of a window in their tallest building. I heard that a UTCC student committed suicide recently during the midterm exams. Long ago when I was a volunteer a uni student tried to do herself in with sleeping pills in a dorm. (They saved her in time.) It is usually Thai women who attempt to do themselves in, almost always because their dipshit boyfriend has dumped them (as if there was a shortage of men in Thailand). Faustian
Indeed, no shortage of dipshit men to choose from! Spoilt for choice I'd say. Easy to find another. Strange reaction.
carew66
A few years later he got a job as a grave digger. He must have been quite the philosopher after that experience. I would have greeted him with, "Hi - Digger." (Think abaht it...)
dddave
Both Harvard and MIT have the problem of high student suicide rates. A lot of students who are used to being the smartest kid in their school suddenly find themselves competing against a whole university full of number ones and cant handle being in the middle of the pack. There are so many suicides by rail in New York that the Metro has mandatory councilling program for all engineers, preparing them in advance for the inevitable.
