allistar
With all the problems in the U.S.(most of which have been listed on Thai360), from no universal health care to its debt to its wars on Iraq and the Taliban (in Afganistan), the U.S. is still the destination of most people who want to leave their country of origin. I was surprised that Asians, as a group, were happy to stay in Asia. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20091103/lf_afp/migrationusafricaasiaeurope_20091103190030

gobbledonk
This is excellent news - we are currently brawling with the Indonesians over the boatloads of Sri Lankans (ok - Tamils) that keep sailing from Indonesian ports onto our northern coastline. Now that we know what their first preference would have been, it will be a lot easier to put them on a plane in Darwin (or Yogjakarta ..) ! unit731
It has always been in the news here. All one has to do is to obtain a passport from country of origin, get on a plane, flush passort down toilet in plane, land in Canada, and claim political asylum. Then free home, free clothes, free job training, and some spending money. Welcome to Canada !
