Guest lazyphil Posted January 10, 2010 Report Share Posted January 10, 2010 looking for a ao nang hotel, stayed in the ocean garden view years ago but cant seem to find it now-any others recomended, not uber rich (2-3k baht) so modest prices please. do i have to book in advance for overnight train tickets from bkk to surat thani? or can you just turn up and get tickets on the day of travel.....getting from surat thani to khao sok straight forward? been 6 years 4 months since i've been to los by the time we go in august, so a bit rusty and responsible for my dad and daughter not just me now!!! ozpharlap Posted January 15, 2010 Report Share Posted January 15, 2010 I have done that trip myself, it is best IMO to book ahead, especially around any holiday time or weekend. Mine you, I snagged a sleeper on the day I booked, but they were all laughing, thinking that I had thought I could just walk up and get one. As I find out on the return leg.
