How do I know internet accomodation post legit??

I've been working off of some suggestions members gave me from an earlier post. I'll be going to Europe - Amsterdam, London, Rome - for five weeks from Thailand.

 

I see lots of interesting posts - craigslist has some and some booking agencies have some. How in the world would I know the rooms or agencies even exist?

 

I have found Central London studio apts for 30 - 40 GBP / night. Would like to book, but also would like it to be there when I arrive.

 

Any suggestions? Heard about any such problems?

There is a hotel in BKK that I have stayed in the past.

 

At one point - stated clearly on the hotel's web site - it stated - do not book rooms from any other web site as - you will not have a room when you get there.

 

Craigs list is not the same. But I certainly would be a tad more cautious.

 

I'd say one would need some corroberation.
