I hear you, seems like just yesterday (9 years ago in actuality) that 4 am was a pretty standard closing time for legal (not underground) places. Note that one can still sit on the metal table/plastic chair bars around soi 13 *on Sukhumvit* and it's just like the old days, complete with circulating freelancers and the roving longhaired guitar guys doing "Songs for Life" classics for tips, man, nothing better than hanging out at 3-4 am enjoying that...still possible, at least on my last (August) trip... And at that time of the night and as much as I usually drink, I have to go about every 30 minutes. Sucks walking down the soi and pissing behind a dumpster.
