Flashermac Posted May 5, 2011 Report Posted May 5, 2011 Anyone (Thai) can rent a taxi to drive, and notice how many don't have a licence or ID displayed. If the cops call them on it, they just hand over 200 baht and drive off. Even if you had the number of the taxi, it might be hard to track down the driver.

There was an Egyptian who murdered travellers going to Pattaya - foolishly by his private car, not a taxi. And some nutter taxi driver stabbed first a Japanese woman and then a Taiwanese woman (both survived). Don't recall a Farang gal getting murdered. (Wouldn't surprise me though.)
