gobbledonk Posted June 10, 2011 Author Report Share Posted June 10, 2011 O'Rourke has given lectures to film students where he tries to lay some sort of philosophical mumbo-jumbo over the whole episode, but it just seems sad to my way of thinking. Just let the doco do the 'talking'. He followed it up with 'Cunnamulla', a really gritty look at an outback town in Queensland. Copped some flack for showing drunk white trash pursuing an underage Aboriginal girl outside a pub and a few other scenes that comfortable middle-class whites would have preferred not to see.
