Flashermac
The Jakarta Post 10 Aug 2011 A travel guide to Asia, CNN Go, has named rendang, a traditional dish from Padang, West Sumatra, number 11 on the “World's 50 Most Delicious Foods†list, beating out French croissants and American donuts. CNN Go described the dish as beef that has been “slowly simmered with coconut milk and a mixture of lemongrass, galangal, garlic, turmeric, ginger and chilies†and then stewed for a few hours to create a dish of “tender, flavorful bovine goodnessâ€. “Tasting it fresh out of the kitchen will send your stomach into overdrive, but many people think it gets even better when left overnight,†CNN Go wrote. Taking the number 10 spot was chicken muamba from Gabon and number 12 was shepherd's pie from Britain. The number one cuisine was massaman curry from Thailand, while buttered popcorn from the US was number 50.
