My apologies if wrong forum. Wasn't sure if I should've used USA, Sports or here. Anyway, another of our brethren has paid up.

This was a disaster waiting to happen. Kobe was very young when he met the then 16 or 17 year old. No prenup. His dad, a former NBA player told him, warned him, begged him to rconsider and Kobe and his ego kicked him to the curb.

The years after his rape charge must have been hell. Not saying he did or didn't deserve it but no matter the case, she must have put him through the ringer.

I met a surgeon in Pattaya years ago. American, who divorced his wife. He was worth a lot of money. He said, for a long tme he stayed in a hapless marriage because he didn't want to give up his house and pay what he thought was a huge amount of alimony to a woman who wasn't the one one who busted his ass in medical school and became a top surgeon. Eventually, he realized that his happiness didn't have a price tag. He divorced her and has never been happier despite paying up big. He's still very wealthy, makes a fifth of what he made working at a top Thai hospital but has never been happier.

One of you guys printed that quote allegedly made by the then owner of Maxim magazine that said if it flies, floats or fornicates, lease don't buy. Truer words have never been spoken. There are mega millionaire celebs in unhappy marriages and what they have to realize is, like Tiger does, is that even giving up half you're worth tens and in some cases hundreds of millions. Your lifestyle doesn't change. You weren't spending that money anyway.

I may get married. But I'm not gonna stay in long term if I know I won't be happy. I'll try and avoid the whole marriage thing altogether if I can. Not that there aren't very happy, successfull marriages. However, I used to bet sports and there is absolutely no way I'd make a bet at a casino with the same odds of success that the modern marriage does. Its worse than 50/50 if the stats are accurate. A lot worse.
