Guest
Everytime people go on holiday, whether it be to Greece, Spain etc, there are always tunes that remind them of it. I thought it might be an idea to compile a list of 20 records from the Go Go bars that remind us of Thailand. You know the ones that when your back home and you hear them a chill runs down your spine. Here are my top 5: 1. Hotel California - Eagles 2. Brown eyed girl - Van Morisson 3. Honey what you do for money - AC/DC 4. Its my life - Bon Jovi 5. Butterfly - Don't know who its by Perhaps we could have a vote and maybe ring EMI. Time to add your selections, Thanks, Kipster100

xenono
"i forget the artist: Cruel Summer" The artist for that song is Bananarama. The song was used in the original Karate Kid movie but did not appear on the soundtrack. "Butterfly - Don't know who its by" Don't know if you are referring to CrazyTown's Butterfly or not. The hook goes: Come my lady Come, come my lady You're my butterfly Sugar baby Come my lady Come, come my lady You're my butterfly Sugar baby Here is my list from Go-Gos. Gorillaz - Clint Eastwood Dominoo - Run Run Away The rest on the list aren't from Go-Go's per se, but still remind of Thailand. JJ Girl - Coco Melon (Dance Mix) DJ Sat - Oh le le (Club Mix) Mary Ann - Casablanca (Club Mix) China Dolls - Oh Oh Oh China Dolls - Wo Ai Ni China Dolls - You Mei You Lai M2M - The Day You Went Away (Dance Mix) Fem@le - Lambada (You might also want to check out an earlier version by Kaoma. Dancando Lambada is another good one by Kaoma. The songs are in Portuguese though) Wasssup! - Bad Dog Is It Love - Chili Hifly Objectiors feat. Marie Noel - Allon Enfants Modern Talking - Brother Louie 98 Tarkin - Simarik (The Kiss Kiss Song) For some reason I am not sure about the last two. They half remind me of Thailand and half of Mexico. What really gets me now is that Neil Sedaka reminds me of Thailand. It was really interesting walking around the beer bars in Pattaya and hearing "Oh Carol" by Neil Sedaka being sung by some Thai guy with a live band. I can understand hearing some Neil Diamond, but Neil Sedaka? Was he big in Thailand back in the day?
