I didn't have much luck with the search engine but found one post about a very bad experience (anonymous, Sept 2001). I noticed that there was no corroboration on the thread, but it did have the ring of truth to me. Two things struck me: Charges for power for aircon are a significant addition to basic rent and some landlords may be banking on high usage. There are a lot of unhappy farang teachers in BKK.
