Of all the occupations one could choose, being a rice smuggler is probably not one of them. It is estimated that some 750,000 tons of rice is smuggled into Thailand each year. Being passed off as locally grown, this smuggled grain along with the spiralling costs of the rice pledging scheme is putting the economy under pressure.

 

But who cares, in this job you don't even have to worry about being caught, as long as you have the permission from the army and pay the right people. The downside is nothing is forever, and the job doesn't come with a pension.
