4pm Although some ISPs in #Thailand are allowing people to open Facebook, many say they cannot access it. Both on the web & apps

FYI RT @Mikepeeljourno: #ThaiCoup: #Thailand junta spokesperson denies military blocking Facebook. Says it must be a technical problem.

#‎Thailand‬ Steve Herman: ‪#‎MICT‬ permanent secretary’s office tells @VOA_News didn't intend to block ‪#‎Facebook‬ -"gateway problem" will be fixed by 5pm. ‪#‎ThaiCoup‬

BBC told that Facebook outage is a gateway problem and will be back in half an hour - with some LM pages dealt with. Sounds weird to me.

FB is back for some but we are told by ICT perm sec that it was ordered blockage albeit temporarily so could be blocked again soon.

4:40pm Panic over. Facebook is now back in #Thailand. Either a glitch or a show of strength by the junta. Thank god for VPN.

Breaking: Thai authorities block FB

http://prachatai.com/english/node/4050

Thai media reported that the Permanent Secretary of the ICT Ministry on Wednesday told media that the ministry was ordered by the military junta to block Facebook because the servince was used to provoke conflict and violence, according to Post Today twitter.

Since about 3pm, Thai netizens reported that they cannot access Facebook from various Internet Service Providers.

At 4.30pm, Thai netizens reported that they can access Facebook normally.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Judging on the frenzy that started on Twitter when Facebook became unavailable I would not be surprised if someone in the military changed their minds after reading that. And they gave the excuse of a mistake ....

*ATTENTION* ICT announces FB collasped due to gateway error, should be back to work 5PM. While NCPO insist no order to block.

@JonahFisher let's see...could have been a test. Interesting reaction nonetheless!

Who blinked first? Junta panics. Facebook back online

Jonah Fisher â€@JonahFisher 2m

Vimeo has been properly blocked - with a NCPO message. Maybe they're running through their censorship options.
