bibblies
I'd like to help someone prepare for an English test necessary to enter an apprenticeship program at the Oriental hotel. I'm sure it'll turn out to be elementary, but can someone with experience of these things give me an idea of the level and any particular idiosyncratic things they'd expect you to know? gummigut
There are a number of types of tests. I believe there is a Toeic test and then there are several English tests administered by Universities that companies use as a basis to weed candidates out. Best to have your friend ask the Oriental Hotel which test they use or if they have an inhouse test. If they have an in-house test, get her the format and sample questions of the test to get her as comfortable as possible with the format. <<burp>>
gene1944
The Oriental has a very high standard of English for employees. I would suspect that the test would be more than just basic English.
bibblies
Apparently, the test is "basic" English grammar, but it's 2 hours long. She's interested in the cooking program though. How good would your English have to be if you're hidden away behind the scenes?
