Opinion: How The Military Coup Saved Phuket From Ruin

The coup general yak-yaked for quite some time yesterday, about 5 PM.

He sited many issued and called for the Thai people to be more financially responsible.

He talks the talk...but does he walk the walk :dunno:

I just realised something. It has really been a long time since we've heard anything about Chalerm and his sons misbehaving. :hmmm:

So far, I'm willing to give the coup makers (yes it's a coup) a break.

Sure the measures they've taken thus far have been soft. I'm ready to give them credit.

I never thought I'd say this, but they might make a difference. If the military can clean up its image they might be able to put a dent in corruption. Close down all the nasty police nonsense. That is Thailand's biggest problem -- police. When nobody respects anything, chaos ensues. Nobody respects the police because they don't respect anybody -- nor the law.

It'll take 150 years to fix, but you have to start somewhere.
