baa99
Gen Preecha said he was targeted because of his relationship with the prime minister. He also pointed out that his declaration included large bank accounts of the 3rd Army that he held when he served as its commander. The money was not his, he said. Strange how military funds make their way into personal accounts.

YimSiam
Sometimes it's just easier to move the money into a personal account -- ever tried to buy a fighter jet by signing over a third party check? Easier to just keep the cash in your private account, and pay directly. And really, let's be honest - what's the point of having your brother mount a coup if you can't pull down at least a couple million dollars as a result? Truly, has there ever been a military coup of an elected government in which people squabbled over such utterly insignificant amounts of money? A million, two million dollars? And people are going to get upset about that, when it happens in the context of the military takeover of a 400 billion dollar national economy? So RUDE, really, to be even asking Preecha these questions. No further questions should be allowed, to protect the dignity of those robbing the country and running it into ruin and disgrace... YimSiam
Noted: the PM's brother is one of his NLA dudes? I thought the elites were supposed to show discretion?
cavanami
No need to show discretion when you can have heads chopped off, or people put in detention
